„Przez wiele lat był związany zawodowo z szeroko pojętą spółdzielczością w Tychach. Pełnił funkcje zarządcze w sektorze finansowym m.in. Dyrektora ds. Nadzoru Właścicielskiego oraz Dyrektora ds. Aktywów Strategicznych. Był Prezesem Nadwiślańskiej Agencji Turystycznej z siedzibą w Tychach oraz Sekretarzem Społecznej Rady Sportu przy Ministrze Sportu i Turystyki. Jest ekspertem z zakresu projektów restrukturyzacyjnych w przemyśle stoczniowym oraz aktywizacji obszarów poprzemysłowych.
Angażował się w działalność sektora pozarządowego (ngo) – Stowarzyszenia „Tychy Naszą Małą Ojczyzną”. Dwukrotnie (2010 rok, 2014 rok) uzyskał mandat Radnego Rady Miasta Tychy. Inicjator m.in. powstania Tyskiego Budżetu Obywatelskiego. W 2014 roku ubiegał się o urząd Prezydenta Miasta Tychy. Uzyskał drugi rezultat.
W 2018 roku uzyskał mandat Radnego Sejmiku Wojewódzkiego Śląskiego. Zdobył 33 315 głosów. 21 listopada 2018 roku został wybrany na stanowisko Marszałka Województwa Śląskiego. Aktywnie angażuje się w działania mające na celu transformację regionu m.in. w pracę tzw. Platformy Transformacji Regionów Górniczych przy Komisji Europejskiej. Priorytetowe obszary działalności to również kultura, infrastruktura, transport, ekologia i sport.
Członek Narodowej Rady Rozwoju przy Prezydencie RP zaangażowany w pracę sekcji: samorząd oraz ochrona zdrowia.”
For many years he was professionally associated with the broadly understood cooperative movement in Tychy. He held managerial positions in the financial sector as a Director of Corporate Governance and Director of Strategic Assets. He was the President of the Nadwiślańska Agencja Turystyczna based in Tychy and the Secretary of the Social Sports Council at the Minister of Sport and Tourism. He is an expert in the field of restructuring projects in the shipbuilding industry and activation of post-industrial areas. He was involved in the activities of the non-governmental sector (NGO) – the Association „Tychy Naszą Małą Ojczyzną”. Twice (in 2010 and in 2014) he obtained the mandate of a Councillor of the Tychy City Council. Initiator of among others the creation of the Tychy Participatory Budget. In 2014, he ran for the office of the Mayor of the City of Tychy. He got the second result. In 2018, he obtained the mandate of a Councillor of the Silesian Voivodeship Sejmik. He won 33,315 votes. On November 21, 2018, he was elected Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship. He is actively involved in activities aimed at transforming the region: the work of the so-called Platform for the Transformation of Mining Regions at the European Commission. Priority areas of activity are also culture, infrastructure, transport, ecology and sport. Member of the National Development Council at the President of the Republic of Poland involved in the work of the section: local government and health care.
