The State Forests National Forest Holding has been in existence since 1924. It is the largest organisation in the European Union managing forests which belong to the State. Forest organizational units operate at the national, regional and local levels. The organisation employs in total more than 25 thousand people. The State Forest manages almost one fourth of Poland’s territory considered particularly valuable as it is overgrown by forests. The organization of the State Forests operates on the self-financing principle and in accordance with the Forest Act as well as social expectations.
While fulfilling its mission, the State Forests makes every effort to balance social, economic, local governments’ and communities expectations. This requires highly qualified staff, efficient management, modern technologies and tools. Ensuing economically-effective operations, the State Forests has been at the same time guided by superior values: responsibility, openness, and professionalism.
